Craig and Jennifer came all the way from Chicago to Gloucester, MA for their enchanted seaside wedding at Hammond Castle Museum, and they couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.

Jennifer’s necklace belonged to Craig’s late mother Sharleen, and the brooch she carried on her bouquet was her Grandmother’s. These were some of the special details they wanted to include to honor their family members who are no longer with them:

Craig and Jennifer shared a very special “first look” on the drawbridge of the castle before their ceremony.

The castle gardens and the view of the ocean are absolutely breathtaking.

The ceremony was held inside the castle’s great hall, and then the guests went out to the back lawn for the reception.

Craig and Jennifer were a photographer’s dream: not only did they make a stunning bride and groom, they were also some of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Getting this group shot from the roof of the castle was a lot of fun.

Bride/Groom Questions

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Bride: “There were so many.  Top on my list is seeing Craig on the drawbridge for the first time in a tux so handsome ( he never dresses up),  it was an amazing moment between the both of us and will never forget it.

Seeing all of our friends and family from all over the country  and one from England who cleared their schedule to be with us. We did not expect so many people to make the travel commitment to be with us and felt very honored that they were there.

My mother had heart surgery this year and we thought she would never be able to make it but she worked very hard to be there and climbed the steep stairs into the castle . She said nothing was going to keep her from this wedding. Seeing her overcome her challenges was priceless.

We were lucky to have my Godfather ,Uncle Frank marry us. He did such a good job personalizing the ceremony to fit our personalities and  incorporate family which is dear to us

The moon! We had a gorgeous full harvest moon and the venue was just breathtaking!”

Groom: “The first look and reveal on the drawbridge. Jennifer was so beautiful.”

What was your favorite detail?

Bride: “We wanted to make sure we honored the people who were no longer with us who we loved dearly.  I wore a  S necklace belong to Craig’s mom Sharleen, I had my Grandmother’s broach on my bouquet, we displayed our parents and grandparents wedding photos and we also had a moment of silence before dinner for Craig’s parents who both passed in the last 3 years.”

Groom: “There wasn’t one specific thing, everything flowed together so perfectly, it was like being in a beautiful dream.”

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

Bride: “The day goes by so fast, enjoy the moments with the people that are in front of you. Don’t dwell on the negatives.”

Groom: “Please hire Brianna Cox as your wedding photographer! Oh, and get married at the Hammond Castle if you can.”

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Bride: “When my niece Abigail grabbed the flower basket out of my niece Audrey’s ( flower girl)  hand and started picking up the petals when she was walking down the aisle. Audrey handled the situation well and kept on walking down the aisle as if nothing happened.”

Groom: “Forgetting to hand best man Kent Smith the wedding rings prior to the ceremony. Linda Rose took care of everything so well that we laugh about it now.”

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Bride: “Wish I had more time to spend with family and friends and wish I could have found a good hairstylist! It is hard trying to find someone when you are out of town.”

Other than that nothing!

We were lucky to have the perfect venue,  great planner ( thank you Linda Rose) and vendors that took care of us  (Audrey’s Flower Shop, Creative Catering who produced the best wedding food ! and a great photographer Brianna Cox.)”

Groom: “Start everything 4 hours earlier to make the day and evening last longer.”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Bride: “We plan on going on our honeymoon next year! It is hard to go in August during  hurricane season.”

Groom: “We’ll be back to Gloucester next year to celebrate. Our “Honeymoon” was spent prior to the wedding as we had to file for our marriage license three days prior to the wedding in the Commonwealth.”
