I have to start out this blog post by saying that sometimes I really love the world of social media and how it can connect friends and family from all over the world! Lisa contacted me via Facebook when she saw I was doing another couple’s engagement photos in Florida. (their photos will be on the blog soon too!) I was only scheduled to be in Florida for the day, but I was more than up for the challenge of adding a second shoot. 🙂
Lisa and I are distant cousins, but only knew each other through Facebook until I took her engagement photos. It was a pleasure to get to know my cousin and her fiance, and it was a blast to do two photoshoots in one day, 2,000 miles from home!
Lisa and Frank chose to have their photos taken at the Ringling Museum of Art, which is one of the most unique, beautiful locations I’ve ever done an engagment shoot!
I may have a slight obsession with banyan trees now…
Mable’s Rose Garden was just as fragrant as it was beautiful!

How did you meet?
“We met 8 years ago at his brother’s wedding who married a good friend of mine.”
How did he pop the question?
“We were driving down to Tampa after staying with his parents in Georgia to see my dad in a play he was in. On the way down, he pulled off an exit and we hiked around High Falls. On one of the platforms, over looking the waterfall, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and offered his grandmother’s ring. We had the rest of the car ride to bask in this life changing event, just the two of us.”
