Collaboration with Miss Massachusetts, Traveling Bohemian and Bio Makeup Artistry – Boston Portrait Photographer

I recently got to put together a really fun collaborative shoot with some talented and beautiful fellow creatives!
Featuring gorgeous fair trade and handmade jewelry from Traveling Bohemian and a succulent flower crown made by Elysian Cedar.

Susan of Bio Makeup Artistry shared her magical makeup talents. Caitlin O’Neill, who happens to be Miss Rhode Island North America AND Miss Massachusetts (dual crowns!) was the sweetest, and most beautiful model!

Continue to the bottom of the blog post for more information on this unique and beautiful jewelry….

And SURPRISE! Caitlin wasn’t the only model for the shoot…Bio Makeup Artistry wanted to do my makeup too! Plus Traveling Bohemian‘s Ruby Cuff Necklace and earrings went perfectly with my outfit, so I had to jump in front of the lens for some shots. 😉  (Thanks to my husband, second shooter, partner in all things: Peter for taking the photos of me!)

During this styled shoot we were able to take the time to do some experimental shots like these in-camera double exposures on my Canon 5D Mark IV. One of my biggest goals as a photographer is: always try to push my creative boundaries and learn new things.

Now to share some fun details about the unique, fair trade and handmade jewelry we featured from Traveling Bohemian:

The beautiful handmade butterfly earrings are made by hill tribe women in Northern Thailand. The butterfly wings are made from real butterflies found in the jungles of Thailand. The wings are then dipped in a clear resin to preserve them in their beautiful natural state. Thailand is magical with thousands of Butterflies everywhere…The average butterfly only lives a week or two max. No butterflies were killed for the purpose of making these.

The Brass Earrings & Cuff Necklaces are made by a group of artisans in a rural village in the  desert of northern India.
When purchasing one of these pieces from Traveling Bohemian you are supporting the livelihood and ability to provide better opportunities to people living in rural communities. Each brass earring is first hand cut and carved out of hypoallergenic brass,  the original work of art is then made into a cast for easy reproduction.
Lastly, the Flower pendant is handmade by an artist in Colorado. A real yellow daisy is dipped and preserved in resin to transform mother natures art as a pendant to enjoy for years.

10% of of all profits from Traveling Bohemian are donated to an organization that works with women freed from human trafficking.

To celebrate supporting small businesses, and since today is Small Business Saturday: Traveling Bohemian is doing 15% off all items in their etsy shop!

Ended our collaborative shoot with a lovely fall sunset and moonrise. I’m truly thankful for opportunities to express creativity like this one and support other fellow creatives, all of us doing what we love! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. <3
