Amy and Damien got married at the charming outdoor location of Bear Mountain Inn in Waterford, Maine, surrounded by their closest friends and relatives. Amy put a lot of hard work into her unique handmade touches, and picked a serene spot overlooking a lake for their special day.
Bear Mountain Inn featured a sprawling lawn that was perfect for the guests to play yard games, overlooking Bear Pond.
The couple stayed in “Sugar Bear Cottage,” a cozy little cabin on the property.
There were so many beautiful spots to take pictures and the weather was perfect before the ceremony.
Amy’s sister made the hand-painted sign that read “This is how our story begins.”
The inn had a picturesque wrap around porch that we just had to take advantage of.
I’m not sure what this doorway and arbor were originally for, but the setup made for some great photos.
Before the ceremony, Amy and Damien invited their guests to enjoy some drinks in their cute custom koozies and hang out on the lawn for some fun yard games.
If they needed some shade, guests could duck into the tent that was already set up for the reception. I loved the mix of floral arrangements in vintage jars and milk glass bottles by Bedford Florist.
Amy made sure to include her adorable nephews and nieces in her special day.
Amy and Damien’s ceremony took place under a giant evergreen tree on the Bear Mountain Inn property.
Amy chose to have these unique silver animal escort cards for her guests, and included her grandmother’s tablecloths on each table, which added a sentimental, vintage touch.
The bride also made all of these paper flowers by hand.
The guests all got their own koozies, so of course the bride and groom had some special ones just for them.
There was a little rain during the reception, but after it passed the guests were treated to a rainbow and one of the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen.
The couple closed out the night with a roaring fire down by the lake.
Thank you so much Amy and Damien for letting me capture your special day!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Our ceremony was by far the best part of the day. A friend of ours was our officiant and he did a great job including our guests and capturing how we feel. We were also able to have the ceremony as planned, under a tree on the property. It was perfect and now we’ll have those memories forever.
What was your favorite detail?
The silver animal escort cards (thank you pinterest), the bud vases for the centerpieces, and my grandmother’s tablecloths. I loved that it all came together in the pretty, casual, and meaningful way I had visualized.
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
It’s a big deal to marry someone so make your ceremony your own, you’ll be grateful to have those memories.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
The only thing I would change is the tent size. We had long tables for dinner and didn’t want people to fall in the trap of sitting at their table the whole evening. We had planned for lawn games and adirondack chairs overlooking the lake so that people could relax, enjoy the day, and mingle with each other. When it started to rain we didn’t have anywhere to go because the tent wasn’t big enough to accommodate anything besides sitting at the tables. If it were bigger we could have setup the games under the tent!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went on a mini-moon to Ogunquit, Maine which was amazing. We enjoyed the little town, lounged by the pool, and went on a sailing trip in the cove. In May 2015 we’ll go on our honeymoon in Europe, a river cruise down the Rhine.
