Katie and Marc had a beautiful, intimate wedding at Lane’s Cove in Gloucester, MA, and even in the rain it was the perfect spot for their special day.
Katie wanted to surprise Marc with a *first look* before the ceremony so they could share a special moment when he saw her in her wedding dress for the first time.
The newlyweds are expecting a baby girl due in October and they couldn’t be more excited to be her parents!
While we were taking pictures on the water and outside of this gorgeous old barn, a kind neighbor named Mr. Cummings came outside and invited us into the barn. It turns out Mr. Cummings is a local historian and owns the barn. It used to be an old fish shack that the city of Gloucester was going to condemn, but the local Lanesville neighbors didn’t want to lose this historic structure so they saved it and brought it back to life. We were so grateful Mr. Cummings opened up this part of Gloucester history to us!
He even had a big American flag hanging in the upper barn door which made for some epic shots!
The rain didn’t stop Katie & Marc from having an intimate ceremony outside with some of their family members there to witness it.
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
The most memorable moment of the day had to be Marc’s mom being able to make the trip. It meant the world to us that she was there.
What was your favorite detail?
Our favorite detail was probably the surprise barn. It was unexpected which made it all the more magical!!
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
My best advice would have to be to keep it small. We still faced stresses with such short notice but the intimacy of it all made the day even more special.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
The funniest memory for me was Marc cracking jokes the entire time we were getting our pictures taken. One of the many reasons i fell in love with him.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
I don’t think I’d change a thing. Not even the weather!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We didnt take a honeymoon but are hoping to plan to get away to the mountains before the baby is born.
